At SELF, we continue to invest in innovation, quality and the development of adhesive solutions increasingly adapted to the demanding requirements of the automotive industry. As a result of the work carried out by our R&D department, we have developed a new range of LOW VOC & FOG adhesive tapes, designed to provide low emissions, low condensable substances and low odour, in compliance with the VDA 278 standard.
This standard is a key reference in the automotive sector for evaluating emissions from materials used inside vehicles. Thanks to their specific formulation, our adhesive tapes achieve values significantly below those commonly required by OEM manufacturers:
VOC values: <50 µg/g
FOG values: <100 µg/g
These low emission levels help improve air quality inside the passenger compartment by reducing the presence of volatile and condensable compounds that may affect interior comfort. For this reason, SELF LOW VOC & FOG adhesive tapes are particularly suitable for automotive interior applications, where safety, comfort, durability and technical compliance are essential.
The range is available in different formats, including self® 4500/50 transfer tape, mesh and double-sided tissue tape, with different liners and widths that can be adapted to each customer’s requirements. They can also be supplied in strip format, making them easy to integrate into lamination, assembly and converting processes.
In addition to their low-emission performance, these tapes offer excellent adhesive properties and high application versatility. They are especially suitable for laminating technical materials such as foams, felts, fabrics and other porous substrates, while maintaining reliable and stable adhesion even in demanding applications.
